Autumn is hands down my favourite time of year, not too hot not too cold – tepid weather for a tepid person like me! I thought it would be nice to share things I’ve been loving since the leaves turned.
One of my favourite things about the season changing is when vampy makeup & nails return. Ouuu I just love doing my nails at this time of year, the colours to choose from seem so much more vast then summer shades and in general darker shades are just more ‘me’. Since I moved to New York I usually get gel nails as I love the finish & strength it gives them so when the nail-experts Sally Hansen asked me to trial their Miracle Gel . I was quite curious to see how the #1 selling nail care brand’s formula held up! Out of over forty products Sally Hansen provides care for all mani-pedi needs. I’ve tried the cuticle remover, Diamond Strength Hardener & the famous ‘No-Chip’ Topcoat before so I was excited to play around with the new Miracle Gel!
Since there is a bunch of awesome A/W nail-art tutorials on the Sally Hansen Youtube channel, I thought I’d give you guys my spin since I’ve been meaning to show you guys how to achieve my favourite marble nails for a while now. To achieve the look, I used the Miracle Gel colours in ‘Dig Fig’ (dark red) on all my nails & a little of ‘Birthday Suit’ (pale nude) for the marble effect. The only other thing you’ll need is some simple cling film or saran wrap.
For the marbled nail art, add two small dots of Dig Fig & two of Birthday Suit. Place the cling film directly on top and press down to marble the colours together! Clean up the edges with a cue-tip & Sally Hansen’s strengthening nail polish remover, and top with the Miracle Gel Topcoat & voila! A very gel-like finish with no need for lamps if I do say so myself!
A couple of days on and so far so good! Considering I treat my hands like tools I’m surprised they haven’t chipped yet. I’m impressed by the formula and the wide brush makes it easier to get a smooth finish. [Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes & topcoat retail at £9.99 with over 40 shades currently available.]
I had fun sharing this autumn nail look and I hope you did too. A big thank you to Sally Hansen for helping to bring you this post.
