Party season faux pas – we’ve all been there! Working those extra hours, excessive fun in the form of alcohol filled christmas parties, and the dreaded falling asleep with your makeup on (lashes stuck to cheeks and all)!
When I’m tired & my skin is feeling dry & dehydrated I like to give my mind, body & soul a big old bit of TLC.
The first thing I do is cleanse my skin. Nothing is worse then waking up with your skin feeling greasy, grubby or flakey. When my skin is thirsty I tend to reach for the Micellar range from Simple Skincare. First, I use the Micellar Wipes to remove any makeup residue or greasiness, then I use the Micellar water to gently remove more stubborn remnants such as eyeliner with a soft cotton pad. These products leave my skin literally glistening and I instantly look healthier (says my mum anyway, but you can make your mind up from the un-retouched picture above!)
Once thats done, I run a hot bath with some candles and some essential oils or epsom salts to help detox my skin. I love sitting back in the bath with a hot chocolate watching youtube!
If I can manage a full day off just for recovery pampering, I get out all my nail polishes and take my time doing some nail art – so satisfying having all the time in the world to wait for them to dry & not smudge!
